“By enjoying a meal these San Diego restaurants, you will be making a difference in the lives of local women and their families affected by breast cancer,” said Laura Farmer Sherman, president & CEO, Susan G. Komen San Diego. “The money raised from this event will help take the burden off the shoulders of the women we serve who are often too weak from their treatments to make dinner for their families.”
Participating restaurants include: Broken Yolk (all San Diego locations), Chick-fil-A Quarry Creek, Gaglione Brothers Famous Steaks & Subs, The Local Pacific Beach, Lupe’s Taco Shop, McFadden’s San Diego, Milton’s Restaurant, Nothing Bundt Cakes (various locations), Roppongi Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Sally’s Seafood on the Water at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, Yanni’s Bar and Grill and many more. Making dining plans at a participating restaurant will support San Diego breast cancer patients and help them become breast cancer survivors. Visit http://komensandiego.org/dineoutrestaurants/ to see a full list of participating restaurants.
“Last year we raised $10,000, which is equivalent to 200 days of warm meals delivered to women struggling to put food on the table. This year, we are hoping to exceed that amount,” said Farmer Sherman. “Invite your friends and family, put on your pink and enjoy a night out that supports those who need it most.”
Restaurants that are participating will donate 10 to 25 percent of the day’s proceeds to Susan G. Komen San Diego to support education, outreach, free mammograms, financial and food assistance, transportation and more. Komen San Diego is the largest funder of free breast cancer diagnostics, treatments, services and support of any organization in San Diego County.
