Meet Arika
As Co-CEO & Founding Partner of Scatena Daniels Communications, Arika wears many hats but spends the majority of her time on client work and agency operations. For Arika, the best part of her job is the privilege of working with talented people and amazing organizations to make an impact every day.
Arika was born to work in PR, and she has spent the last two decades honing her craft in the industry. She has a flair for skillfully guiding her clients through the rough waters of a tough issue, creating grassroots campaigns that get results and planning strategic media relations. In addition to the wealth of knowledge and experience Arika brings to the table, clients have called her collaborative, thoughtful and dedicated.
It will be no surprise to those who know Arika to learn she was voted “friendliest” in her high school graduating class, and it remains true today. You only need to spend a few seconds with Arika to witness her effervescence and “gift of the gab” in action. Arika loves meeting new people, hearing and relating to their stories, and learning from her interactions with others.
Arika and her husband have three young children. While her kids’ extracurricular activities keep Arika booked solid most weeks, she is an avid concert-goer and always finds time to squeeze in shows by her favorite performers. In her spare time, Arika loves traveling, staying active, upcycling antique furniture and interior decorating.
Ever the mover and shaker, Arika is highly involved in the community. She holds the position of treasurer for Health Care Communicators of Southern California and is a member of the North County Philanthropy Council Marketing & Fundraising Committee. Arika was a finalist for the San Diego Business Journal's Women in Business awards program in 2022 and is one of SD Metro Magazine's 2023 Top Marketing and PR Executives. She has received accolades from San Diego Press Club's Excellence in Journalism Awards, PRSA San Diego Bernays Awards, San Diego Business Journal's prestigious "40 Under 40" award, and also SD Metro Magazine's "SDMover" award.
