Meet Sarah
In her role as Senior Publicist with Scatena Daniels Communications, Sarah serves as our resident op-ed, advocacy and national media maven. She has worked in media and public relations on both coasts throughout her career, and enjoys bringing a diverse portfolio of experience, including a background in Washington, D.C. policy communications, to her clients nationwide.
Sarah’s work is guided by her philosophy that PR does not stand for “press release.” She has brought creative, relationship-oriented and story-driven campaign ideas that have led to real results for clients including Planned Parenthood of Orange & San Bernardino Counties, West PACE, the National Conflict Resolution Center, Cox Communications and more.
Sarah’s gifts don’t stop there—she is also host of Pundemonium!, San Diego’s only pun competition, and a longtime improv and stand-up comedian. You can probably find videos of that on social media—for REEL!
She is also a dedicated volunteer therapy dog handler with Love on a Leash San Diego. Her rescue golden retriever Norah brings smiles and love to everyone she meets on these visits, from unaccompanied minor children housed at the San Diego Convention Center to seniors in memory care facilities.
Sarah says the best part about living in San Diego is the easy access to dog beaches, craft beer and tacos.
Sarah’s exemplary work has earned the praises of both her clients and the community. She was recognized by San Diego Business Journal in 2022 and 2020 as a finalist for the Business Woman of the Year awards, and the San Diego Press Club has recognized her repeatedly across multiple categories in its annual awards ceremony for exceptional work.
